Payroll

Payroll tax is the tax of the state and federal governments. As an employer, you must deduct and pay taxes on behalf of your employees. Employers also need to pay the corresponding social security and medical insurance taxes and pay the state and federal unemployment taxes.

Employer’s responsibility: The employer must purchase workers’ compensation and disability insurance.

Employers report payroll taxes:

  • Employers are obliged to report payroll taxes and deposit payroll taxes in a timely manner.

  • Federal Government Annual Payroll Tax Return (Form 940 or 940EZ)

  • Federal Government Quarterly Payroll Tax Return (Form 941)

  • Payroll and Tax Reports ( Forms W-2 and W-3)
